Exhibit Support Technician I  F/T

Exhibit Team Professionals  P/T or F/T on project basis


Anamnesia is interviewing exhibit designers, graphic designers, media/internet designers, interior designers, architects, project managers, CAD drafters, editors, writers, museum curators, and other experienced museum and exhibit personnel to join teams on a per-project basis— with the possibility of permanent employment.

You must be presentable, smart, and articulate. It is very desirable if you are fluent in spoken and written French.

While we don’t expect you to know every computer application, you must be very proficient in those related to your specialty. For example, designers should know InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoShop.

No benefits, but excellent pay if you are selected to participate in projects, as needed. Each project should be 1-18 months duration.

New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts only. It’s up to you, but we will look most favorably at candidates within a 50 mile radius of Greenwich, Connecticut. We will interview applicants who plan to relocate, but will not pay relocation expenses.

Exhibits Curator F/T

The Museum of South Texas History seeks a Curator of Exhibits who will be responsible for the visual presentation and interpretation of the borderland heritage of South Texas and Northeastern Mexico through objects, documents, photographs and audiovisual and interactive media.  This position will expand upon the museum’s demonstrated high standards and innovation in planning, design, fabrication and management of the museum’s permanent and changing exhibits.

Requirements: 
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, in museum studies, history or related fields.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to organize, present and communicate messages effectively through design.

Five to ten years experience in exhibition design and management, preferably for a museum.

Knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software.

Knowledgeable of and experienced in using the latest technological trends in interpretation, security, lighting and sound effects.

Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.

Some projects also involve research. Mostly history projects, though history background not required. All work can be done long distance – via computer/phone/fax. Work is project/deadline based, so volume varies. One upcoming project has two chunks available – PT May-Sept, PT/FT August-Sept.

Are you curious about the world around you? Interested in human history, natural history? Are you hard-working, organized, responsible, reliable, resourceful? We are a small and friendly interpretive design office that develops and designs exhibits and interpretive graphics for clients of all kinds. We are looking for someone who can do content research for our projects and create outlines which distill and organize information. The ability to write in an understandable, conversational and compelling way would be an added, but not necessary, bonus. This is a full-time position, but we are also interested in part-time and free-lance workers for future projects.
